Many cultures, one people- fostering community, development, and progress of Southern Kaduna at home and in the diaspora, through advocacy and service.

Our Story

SOKAD was founded in 2007 by a group of Southern Kaduna State indigenes in the United States and Canada.  SOKAD, U.S.A. was formed in 2008 after the adaption of by-laws and election of its first Executive members, as mandated by SOKAD’s Constitution. The following were the first elected officers of SOKAD, U.S.A- they served   two  two-year terms until 2012  when new officers were elected:

  • President:  Professor Tunga Lergo
  • Secretary: Engr. Dauda A. Nuhu
  • Treasurer/Financial Secretary: Ms. Alice Osunde ( later replaced by Dr. Freeman Kamuru)
